In India, customers can use their phone number as their Apple ID. So, customers who prefer not to use an email identifier or the ones who don’t have an email account, can still access the Apple Ecosystem using their phone numbers.

So while you help your customers setup their new Apple devices, highlight the benefits of using a phone number as an Apple ID.

• First, it’s a quick way of creating an Apple ID and it’s easy to remember. There are less chances of forgetting one’s phone number.
• Second, there is no need to add the credit card details initially, when you create an Apple ID using a phone number.
• Third, it's easy to reset the Apple ID password if forgotten, using a 6-digit authentication code and the device passcode.

• During the iPhone activation, you can help customers create an Apple ID.
• Select the ‘Use phone number’ option.
• Let the customer enter the preferred phone number.
• Tap on ‘Next’ and let the customer enter the 6-digit verification code.
• Advise the customer to choose a strong password.

Once the device is activated, guide customers to turn on “Find My iPhone” in the iCloud Settings and activate services like Apple TV+, App Store, Apple Arcade and others.
